Millions of years ago the realms of the living, Hueco Mundo, Soul Society, and even hell were once one world. Among the world were two races that were present. Humans roamed the world trying everything they could so that they could survive. Those who did not survive bodies crumbled and only their souls remained. Two of these were a pair of twins who had died when they were being birthed. These two turned into two very different beings that a spirit could walk down. One became the Spirit King the first shinigami. While the other became the First also known as the first arrancar.

When the two met each other two hundred years later a vicious battle began between the two that threatened to destroy the world and all that lived on it. Finally legend has it that a human who had been around since the beginning of time who was known as the eldest grew tired of the quarrel that threatened existence. The three did battle for many years when one grew tired he’d flee and the others in turn would seek shelter to rest. Eventually the eldest slew both of them expecting two finish the fight once and for all. He knew however that the two species would return and wreak havoc among the world so with all the power he had left he split the worlds apart so that they could never again come in contact. One world was the world of the living where humans would exist and live without spirits there to interrupt them. Next Hueco Mundo in case any of the corrupted souls ever returned. Next the Soul Society in which the souls of the uncorrupted departed would reside so that they could live life once again with a new start. Finally hell was created so that all those who committed sins in their lifetime would go to be punished.

This took most of the Eldest’s power and weakened him severely. Each of the twins however had taken on someone to follow in their foot steps. The First had devoured another soul and spent years locked in Hueco Mundo by himself during this time through his hatred became an arrancar himself. Than the Spirit King took on a apprentice before he was killed and had trained him in the arts of the shinigami. He himself took on the title of Spirit King along with thirteen apprentices and trained them and thus began the gotei thirteen. Among the first thirteen one stood out mastering the arts of the shinigami much quicker than the others. He was in line to be second in command of the shinigami (The Soutaicho) however something happened that lost him this chance. Much like the First a extra spirit inhabited his body in which a bone mask covered his face and than spread all over his body forcing him to attack his allies.

It took all twelve of them plus the Spirit King to defeat him and seal him under Seireitei where the gotei thirteen’s base of operations is. He was quickly replaced and the Spirit King elected forty six council members who would be in charge of the political problems Soul Society faced. The humans unfortunately forgot all about the other races and most of the humans lost all spiritual powers and had the spirits been there would have been invisible. A select clan of humans remained aware of the spirits and the monster that had nearly destroyed the world and trained to defeat them if they ever returned(The Quincy). The Eldest seemed to fade into the time stream and has not been heard of since then. Hundreds of thousands of years past and the arrancar obtained a new ability. He was able to rip a hole in thin air and exit into the realm of the living.

The Second than began to devour the living and thus the hollows returned to the living world. For many years they found no hardships in devouring souls aside from the occasional quincy. Eventually the members of the Central 46 realized that something was going on in the world of the living that was rapidly depleting the souls that were entering into Soul Society. They ordered those skilled in kido to create a new division and work on the creation of a kido that could open a gate to the world of the living. When they arrived the battle between the hollows and the shinigami arose again. Millions of years have passed and the arrancar are yet to have returned to the living realm and the shinigami know relative peace. However a storm is brewing and many hardships are expected to being coming soon that will test the forces of light against the evil that threatens all of existence. What side will you choose?
